2013 shenanigans
Our goats are well known throughout the Owens Valley, everyone adores them (and our other critters as well) and frequently ask me about them and all our goat doings!
Here are some of the things we've done just this year..
Participate in the 2013 Junior Livestock Show for the Eastern Sierra (Athena got first in the Junior Doe class!)
Buzz and Woody featured as special guests in a local wedding
Faith, Athena, Ginger, LB Totoro, and one of the wethers featured in the Lone Pine film festival parade
LB Totoro took a walk in the park during the Film Festival activities to socialize, he made lots of friends
Athena and Ginger made an appearance at the 100 Mule team pizza meeting held at the IOU Garden
Athena the Goblin lurked around town on all hallows eve, bringing goodies to all sorts of monsters..

2014 Business
As we grow and learn how to manage this small herd we have many goats come and go. At the most we had 17 goats at once, as of 3/27/14 we have 2 Nigerian Dwarf does, 1 Boer doe, 1 LaMancha doe, 1 Nigerian Dwarf buckling, 2 Boer x Nubian bucklings (Ellie's kids), and a LaMancha wether (Zoey belongs to family, so she wasn't in the count). That's a grand total of 8 goats, 4 of which are still looking for their new homes. We've got a small herd, but are still looking for a place to move to hopefully by the end of the year where our numbers can expand comfortably.
Ellie May (our one and only Boer doe) had twin bucklings (look like Boer x Nubian crosses) on 3/15/14
We're still trying to keep active in the local 4H groups (seems to be where goats are most popular). If you have a 4Her interested in getting into goats (or pigs, or steers, or turkeys, or rabbits, or chickens...) feel free to ask any questions, I've raised a lot of animals in my 4 years in FFA and am willing to give help where I can!
